The latest alphabetica book in the round robin had a sub-theme of ‘what inspires you’. After much thought, I decided to go with fabric as the focus, but felting, fibres, fantasy and even fashion found their way in too. I just love the colours and patterns of fabric and fibres and am using them a lot more in my work than I used to, even if only as small additions and/or backgrounds. The fashion element in the above spread is the use of what I would have considered clashing patterns and colours, but my visit to the fashion design exhibition at Urbis inspired my choices here. I think it works, just hope the owner of the book likes it as well!
Needle-felting, fabric, ribbon, fabric pens, painted silk, paper.
